Glowing endorsement for NewsGator..

I think this is well deserved, so I thought that I might as well stress this:

NewsGator is good software. The guys, like Greg, that are involved with NewsGator are obviously awesome.

I felt I owed this to them too, given my recent speculation that NewsGator was killing Outlook. As it turns out, this was not the case. So, I don't want to give anyone the impression that I was (still) throwing stones, I think they've done a good job.

There are a few other things that I feel like pointing out. I didn't reboot my computer for four whole days (nor close Outlook during that time) because my trial period for NewsGator has lapsed, and since I had made the decision to buy it, but had to wait until Thursday (pay day) so I had the money, I just decided to leave Outlook open (heh, it worked too, like taking candy from a baby). So I obviously cared right?

Further, Thursday last week, I sent them some feedback about NewsGator, with some minor UI suggestions / gripes and basically just letting them know that I was generally really pleased with it. I got an e-mail back from them within 10 minutes, with a considered response. I was pretty impressed, and this cinched the deal for me, I had been considering rolling back to SharpReader until then ($AUD50 stings a bit, it means I can't go to the pub next week).

Out of nowhere, I got 'tech support' via my blog! Now that's just out of control. I'm not sure how this happened, but it did. I'm guessing that Greg must be searching blogs for comments about his product, but even if it is extremely proactive marketing, I'm still impressed. Kudos.

Anyway, if you're looking for a news aggregator and you have Outlook (proper) then check out NewsGator!

:D
