My server 'longing' will be my main server in my lab. You can read about my other computers. Next is 'charm'.

After this server goes live love (or maybe orac) will be configured to replace compassion and compassion will be decommissioned.

Config

Disk config

So there are two M.2 drives, one on PCIe 4.0 the other on PCIe 3.0. On the PCIe 4.0 disk put a 32GB cache for the 'data' file-system. On the PCIe 3.0 disk put a 32GB swap partition.

Create a 128GB MD RAID mirror w/ btrfs for /.

All the rest of the space to be used for 'fast' ZFS mirror.

The three HDDs will be used for 'data' ZFS mirror.

Both 'fast' and 'data' will use lz4 compression and dedup.
