Power on Detection
This is a high performance bit of kit and in the large it works well, but by default it has an annoying habit of automatically changing the channel when the channel it's on gets shutdown. So if you're rebooting or power cycling your computer it will automatically switch to the other system and force you to manually switch back. So annoying. It's a good example of technology being a problem by trying to be helpful. It would be much better if it just did nothing. You can disable this feature which is called Power on Detection, from the manual:
With Power on Detection, if the focus computer is powered off, the switch will automatically switch to the next powered-on computer. Power on Detection can be enabled or disabled. The default setting is enabled. To disable Power on Detection, do the following:
- Invoke HSM (see page 22 of the manual available here).
- Press and release [E]. This setting is a toggle. Repeat to enable.
