Melting Point
For temperature conversions see temperature conversion table.
| Solder Material | SI Code | Proportions | Melting Point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tin-lead | SnPb | 60/40 | 183-190°C |
| Tin-lead | SnPb | 63/37 | 183°C |
| Tin-silver-copper | SnAgCu | 96.5/3/0.5 | 217-220°C |
| Tin-copper | SnCu | 99.3/0.7 | 227°C |
| Tin-silver | SnAg | 96.5/3.5 | 221°C |
Maximum safe tip temperature is ~380°C. Higher than that can melt the tip.
Recommended tip temperature is ~300°C. (Says who? I dunno.)
